MEET DeAnne
New School Board Member with New Ideas
I moved to Oregon in 2012 and immediately knew it was home. I completed 2 associates degrees at SWOCC, then moved on to Oregon State University where I completed a Bachelor's in Fisheries and Wildlife.
While at OSU I met my husband who later acquired a job here in North Bend. So off we moved in 2020 to start our life in this community. It was the best decision we made. We both love all of the outdoor things you can do (rain or shine) and all of the wonderful restaurants and shops in town. I take my toddler to both libraries frequently, and the park near our house all of the time. We love that there is so much to do.
I don't work currently. When we had our daughter I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible, so we made the decision for me to stay at home. Before I became a stay at home mom, I had a variety of work experience. From retail, to fast food, then later working as a field technician for the Forest Service for many years. Then I worked at the front desk at the Reedsport Forest Service office after we moved here. While there I got to handle a lot of phone calls from the public, from folk who were easy to talk to, to folk who were not as easy to talk to. I enjoyed the challenge of trying to meet those I talked to in the middle with their concerns and helping them get their questions answered and frustrations heard.
Now I am excited to help our school systems move forward, listen take to heart parents concerns, and working with my peers to the betterment of our education system.
